Sahil Arora 21st Sep, 2021

Winning an award is a great way to make a name for yourself in the art world. But how and where do you find the right kind of awards as an emerging artist? If you’re so lucky, winning an emerging artist award could set off your artist journey smoothly.

To provide just the right kind of spotlight early into your art career, various non-profit organizations and art collectors are supporting young artists via art prizes. This week we put together a list of ‘Emerging Artists Awards’ that young Indian Artists can win. An emerging artist is someone who fits in the broad category of just graduating from art school to spending less than a decade as an art professional. Emerging artist awards offer recognition, financial support, and mentorship which is a great incentive for any new/young artist to fearlessly explore their artistic pursuits.

Listed below are also the recent winners of these awards and a link to their work.

While winning an art award is a great boost for morale, it’s also important to note that the odds of winning are very, very small. Put yourself out there because, why not? It’s worth a shot. But if you cast your net out into the sea & get nothing in return, don’t beat yourself up over it. You can still make a thriving art career for yourself. Remember, submissions are a numbers game & if you have the skill set, sooner or later something will click.
