the artist

Jeevan Antony is the principal songwriter behind Texan dream-pop band Madràs, and shoegazers fou. Armed with reverb-soaked, caressing guitar melodies over haiku style lyrics, Jeevan is particularly known for his intimate, nostalgic sets.

In 2017, Jeevan relocated to Bangalore where he has been experimenting with found sound, and analog gear with Shreyas Dipali (The Bicycle Days) as monsoon search party.

Jeevan has shared the stage with artists such as Leon Bridges, Dark Rooms, Hundred Waters, Sulk Station, The Staves, GEMS.

Jeevan is currently working on his debut solo EP, “to be seen” set for an early 2020 release.

“The Madràs show was the single most magical thing that happened in Austin this week” (Houses- Downtown records, on Madràs’s SXSW showcase)

In the aftermath of romantic devastation and acute homesickness, Jeevan Antony spills his heart and soul into striking, almost haiku-like lyrics and wraps them all in exotic, spacious soundscapes. It’s impossible to listen to these songs and not feel moved, perhaps even cleansed, by the artistry on display – on thingscanchange

“one of the most arresting local performers I stumbled upon at this year’s West Berry Block Party was Jeevan Antony, who sat unassuming on a ledge inside the Cellar and performed spacey, folk-tinged melodies as he hunched over his electric guitar. Along with sibling Mathew Antony and Secret Ghost Champion’s Ben Hance, Jeevan anchors the chamber-pop outfit Madràs…” (Preston Jones, The Star Telegram, Dallas)
