Gauri Lankesh was a firm defender of freedom of press, speech and expression. She upheld the democratic value of open critique of political and social structures. For this, she was killed by three gunmen on the doorstep of her very own home.
To honor her life, and to continue her fight for the preservation of democratic values, more than 400 women’s groups, LGBTQIA collectives and human rights organizations across the country are launching the #ifwedonotrise campaign on the third anniversary of Gauri’s assassination.
The campaign organizers have asked that artists join the #ifwedonotrise movement on 5th September 2020. To participate you can: ·
