THE COLLECTED POETRY OF SRAVANTHI MAMILLAPALLI

By Sravanathi Mamillapalli 24th Apr, 2020

I drift too far

I drift too far, said a voice in my head
Incorrigible!

I admire how it misbehaves

The voice Inside
I, so fragile.
Holding my head high up to the stars
One little drop and the mirage breaks

I drift too far

Try to pause the moment, but bound by time I return
Defined by the boundaries I sulk

Holding my heart
Walking through time
Trying to keep up
Trying to run

One more evening
One more dawn
Another night

A clash
A storm
A debate

I drift too far
Said again the incorrigible voice Inside.

I drift too far
With my head held up high towards the stars
And admire the constellation of the moments I ardour

Trying to keep up
Trying to run

Holding my heart
I drift too far!

I am Not…

Not the surface
Not the skies
Nor am I the turf

Deep in
Down under
Depth is me

Up close
Still and neat

Deep in
Down under
Depth is me

An intense gaze
And a lost stare

Is me

Deep in
Down under
Depth is me

A search within
A soul arrested

The struggle is real
The struggle is real

Drifting away
Drifting in

A picture in the head
A sight far far away

The other side
The other story

Drifting in
Drifting away

Deep in
Down under
Depth is me

Depth is me
Depth is me.

Smile and create

How cruel
How selfish

We

How Brutal
How Ruthless

That even the carcass screams out loud!

Judgmental
And
Scathing

Not even a hello and already written off
Not even a word and a world against
Not even a feel and already an aversion

How cruel
How selfish

Wake up!

You.

Stronger than you never knew.

Let it all be
Let it all be

Don’t walk the walk
Don’t talk the talk

Make your way
Smile and create

Walk your way, your way!
Walk your way, your way!

My name is Sravanthi and beyond this, I do not know how to introduce myself because I consider that the achievements of the past, the present, and the future are distractions keeping us from becoming who we are. Driven by my subconscious I re-arrange words and paint abstracts.
